West Woodstock Library is having a Word Scramble Challenge throughout the month of November!
Solve the scramble by first finding the letters in our windows, either from inside or outside the library. Now put the letters in order, and either tell the librarian at the desk your answer, or e-mail Ms. Sue your solution. If you are learning to read, just tell us the letters, and tell us the colors you found if you are small. You will win a Turkey Bookmark craft kit, while supplies last!
Our Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt continues through the end of October! Count the pumpkins in our windows, either from inside or outside the library. Give the librarian your tally or e-mail Ms. Sue at susandstern@gmail.com. Get a free book!
On Saturday, October 31, come in costume to the library to get a free book and a sweet treat! You may come into the library, with masks, two families at a time, or stay one family at a time, in the foyer. There are chairs by our garden to wait in if need be, and you may also pass the time pleasantly on our Storybook Walk behind the library. (The Walk will be taken down for the winter after the holiday weekend.)
We are so excited to kick off our summer reading program with a virtual concert from Turtle Dance Music on Saturday, June 6 at 11 AM!
You must sign up by e-mailing Ms. Sue at susandstern@gmail.com to receive the password for the show and to reserve your spot. For kids of all ages.
The Virtual Concert: Around The World (in 80 Days!)! A Music, Bubble and Comedy Show features wonderful classic and original children’s songs and tales.
Journey with us on a hot air balloon as we explore musical instruments from all over the world including a didgeridoo (Australia), a hammered dulcimer (Thailand), a Kalimba (Zimbabwe) and many more! The show engages children with songs, comedy, bubbles, and music technology. Join us for this novel 40-minute performance which will be accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences. Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations and connect with new friends.
Feeling stuck at home? Our Summer Reading Program this year is Read Around the World (in 80 Days!) so we will begin right away in June. “Reading is the Window to the World!”
You will be able to pick up your Summer Reading Packets in the library’s foyer starting June 1. Then just e-mail Ms. Sue at susandstern@gmail.com with your name so she can officially sign you up!
Until we can meet again in person, the library is holding virtual story hours instead. If you are interested in learning more about this please contact Ms. Sue at 860-315-5181.
